During the past holiday season, the Perituza Foundation carried out a homeless outreach initiative in Houston with a clear intention: to support members of the community experiencing homelessness with care, dignity, and respect during a time of year that can be particularly challenging.
This initiative was led by the Foundation in partnership with the American Subcontractors Association – Houston Chapter, whose collaboration and leadership were central to bringing this effort together. We are grateful for the support and involvement of Tamara Hancock, Executive Director of ASA Houston, and Shannon MacArthur of Brianna Built It, whose commitment and coordination played an important role throughout the process.
Funding for the outreach included $1,000 allocated through the Brianna Built It initiative, which was directed specifically toward this effort. These funds were matched through contributions from the Perituza Foundation and Ben Farmer, CEO of CITOC, allowing the initiative to extend its reach and support more individuals than initially planned. This shared funding approach reflected the collaborative nature of the initiative and a collective commitment to community care.

Through these combined efforts, the Foundation was able to provide food and essential supplies to approximately 200 individuals experiencing homelessness in Houston. Supplies were selected with the winter season in mind and included nourishment, hygiene items, and cold-weather essentials intended to offer practical support and comfort during colder months.
The outreach was further supported by MEMCO, along with donors and volunteers who contributed their time to packing, storage, and distribution. Their involvement was essential to ensure the initiative was carried out thoughtfully and efficiently, and their contributions supported smooth execution on the ground.
At the Perituza Foundation, transparency and accountability are central to how we operate. All donated funds were used directly to purchase supplies for this outreach, ensuring that contributions were translated into immediate and tangible support. A detailed breakdown of donation usage is available here:

The Foundation appreciates the contributions of all partners and individuals involved and remains committed to engaging in initiatives that are thoughtful, respectful, and grounded in transparency.
