Perituza recently had the honor of being the Title Partner of Bashaway ’24, the third edition of Sri Lanka’s first-ever scripting and automation competition. The event brought together talented students from across the country to compete, collaborate, and showcase their skills in scripting and automation.
Bashaway ’24, held at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), was organized by the SLIIT FOSS Community. The event brought together highly-skilled student developers and automation engineers from across the country. This year’s competition continued to build on its reputation as the first of its kind in Sri Lanka, offering a unique platform in which participants tackled real-world automation challenges using scripting tools and platforms.
This year’s winning team was BroCode from the University of Moratuwa. KK_Coders emerged as the runner-up, followed by Red Shifts as the second runner-up. A total of 240 teams registered for the competition, out of which 30 teams were selected for the final online round held on October 6, 2024. Participants faced scripting and automation challenges that ranged from easy to extreme in difficulty, testing both fundamental knowledge and advanced problem-solving abilities.
It was a pleasure to join SLIIT FOSS as the Title Partner at this inspiring event. I was honored to speak on Docker and share insights with eager learners.

As title partner, Perituza was deeply involved in elevating the learning experience for all attendees. The Company hosted an insightful knowledge session on Docker, aimed at helping participants understand the fundamentals and practical applications of containerization – a skill increasingly essential in modern DevOps and software engineering roles. Delivered by Technical Consultant Rajitha Fernando, the session covered everything from Docker architecture and image creation to hands-on deployment techniques.
In addition to the technical session, Perituza’s team also served as mentors throughout the competition, offering guidance, feedback, and support to student teams as they navigated complex scripting tasks and automation challenges. This mentorship not only enriched the participants’ experience, but also fostered valuable industry-academia collaboration.
Perituza extends heartfelt gratitude to the SLIIT FOSS Community for their dedication and flawless execution of this impactful event. Their commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for students is commendable, and Perituza looks forward to continued collaboration in future initiatives that spark creativity, innovation, and learning.
