On March 29, 2023, Perituza proudly hosted an educational workshop titled “Introduction to Cybersecurity for Software Developers” at the University of Kelaniya. This engaging and interactive session was part of Perituza’s Early Careers Program, an initiative designed to support aspiring IT professionals by equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in the tech industry.
The workshop provided valuable insights into one of the most crucial, yet often overlooked, aspects of software development, integrating security best practices into the software development lifecycle. In today’s ever-evolving digital landscape, cybersecurity is not just a technical add-on, but a foundational element that must be built into every stage of application development. Our expert speakers broke down complex concepts into practical, real-world strategies that students could immediately relate to and apply.

More than 70 enthusiastic students from the University of Kelaniya’s Faculty of Computing and Technology attended the session, gaining exposure to secure coding techniques, identifying vulnerabilities, and understanding how to mitigate potential risks. To make the event even more engaging, lunch was provided to all participants, and raffle draw winners received exclusive vouchers.
This workshop was conducted as part of the ReConnect event series, which focused on strengthening ties between industry and academia.
