Enabling College-Bound Athletes to Build Brand Awareness

High school athletes who aspire to play sports at the collegiate level face many challenges in catching the attention of college coaches and recruiters. While strong athletic abilities and demonstrated academic performance are fundamental to being accepted into a collegiate sports program, students must also become visible in the sports community and build relationships with coaches, recruiters, and former athletes.

In addition to building their professional network, attending camps and showcases, and seeking out media opportunities, students must also showcase their achievements and abilities via their online presence.

After thorough research with industry professionals, the My Crop team decided to develop a social media platform aimed at connecting high school athletes with college coaches, recruiters, fans, and fellow students.

A Social Media Platform Specializing in Sports Performances

My Crop, a native mobile application, provides student athletes with a dedicated platform to share game and training highlights from YouTube and Instagram. College recruiters and coaches, as well as fans and fellow students, search and watch the student athletes’ videos, follow their social media activity, and “high five” exceptional performances.

Designing and Developing a Scalable Platform

The My Crop team, in partnership with Fruition Technology Labs, engaged Perituza to build and manage the platform and its infrastructure.

Starting with a series of onsite discovery meetings, Perituza interviewed stakeholders, and finalized the business use cases and process flows. Before proceeding with development, Perituza finalized the requirements documentation and solution architecture.

As My Crop’s primary use case is to share videos from third-party social media platforms, the application was designed specifically to scale with the highest level of performance.
