As part of our commitment to shaping a more inclusive and equitable future in technology, we recently hosted a “Women in Tech” workshop at Cinnamon Life Colombo – a full-day initiative designed to support and uplift aspiring female technologists.
The event brought together an exclusive group of promising undergraduate women from SLIIT, selected through a competitive on-site interview process. The goal: to create a space where young women can connect, learn, and build confidence as they prepare to enter the tech workforce.
The day featured engaging career-readiness sessions focused on practical skills – from navigating the internship process to thriving in early-stage careers. These sessions were crafted to address common challenges and equip participants with actionable strategies for success.
A key highlight of the workshop was an interactive problem-solving activity simulating real-world workplace scenarios. This segment encouraged teamwork, creativity, and leadership while fostering a better understanding of common dynamics in tech environments.
Empowering women in tech isn’t just about skills—it’s about building confidence and shaping a more inclusive future.

In the afternoon, participants took part in technical deep dives, led by experienced professionals, covering foundational topics such as database design, object-oriented programming, and software architecture principles. These sessions provided not only technical knowledge, but also valuable exposure to industry best practices.
To further support individual growth, the workshop included one-on-one mentoring, resume reviews, and mock interviews, ensuring that each participant received personalized guidance tailored to her career journey.
This initiative reflects Perituza’s ongoing efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within the tech industry. By equipping young women with knowledge, support, and real-world insights, we aim to help close the gender gap in technology and build a stronger, more diverse future for the industry.
